Environmental sustainability is a challenge for us. We do our best to take care of our planet and impact as little as we can on environmental pollution. We banished all plastic bags from our stores and have been using only recycled paper bags since. Moreover, within our effort to be more sustainable, we have implemented our Zero Waste program to recycle our waste at the office. In addition to the actions taken in our products, we’re also focusing on the improvement of water and energy consumption in our supply chain through new and more sustainable technologies and processes.

SUSTAINABLE TEXTILES SWITZERLAND 2030

STS 2030 is a multi-stakeholder program with the mission to contribute significantly to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Swiss textile and apparel sector along the entire value chain.
With this commitment, TALLY WEiJL confirms that they will take measures to ensure the achievement of the following targets: 1. Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions 2. Promotion of fair wages and humane working conditions for all 3. Promotion of innovative business models toward a circular economy 4. Transparency to ensure that sustainable purchasing decisions can be made.

TOWARDS ZERO PLASTIC ONE USE

TALLY WEiJL counters the devastating trend of consuming and wasting plastic bags. Already a few years ago, we banished all plastic bags from our stores and have been using only recycled paper bags since. With a number of more than 600 stores worldwide, this measure makes a significant contribution to reducing plastic waste moving towards a more sustainable approach.

WATER & ENERGY

We strive to trace our wet mills and innovate with new processes and technologies to be better and more efficient in the use of water, energy and chemicals. Environmental sustainability is a key goal in our program.
Most of our Denim suppliers already use Jeanologia technologies in finishing processes to reduce water, energy and chemicals consumption.
They also have EIM software that assesses the environmental impact of the garment finishing processes. It allows to quantify the environmental impact such as Water consumption, Energy consumption, chemical product use and best working practices

GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS (GHG)

We are defining our GHG emissions baseline for 2023 collecting data on our emissions, Scope 1 and 2, according to the GHG Protocol. We will follow alongside our supply chain in 2024 with Scope 3 emissions records. Our performance will be monitored against the baseline, and it will defined our science-based targets to set up a reduction pathway. We aim to identify specific interventions to lower the carbon footpring in our operations, and reduce our GHG emissions by 50% in 2030 towards a net zero target in 2050.
